Burning Directions

Burn mini votives for between 1 and 2 hours at a time in an appropriate container for best burning results. The most appropriate container is one that also fits a tealight. It should be higher than the candle and be a snug fit around the candle. Burning the votives outside of a container or in a container too large will cause them to burn improperly.

Keep wick trimmed to between 1/8" and 1/4" each time candle is burned. Beeswax candles take longer to light for the first time and they may need to be held upside down to allow the wax to run away from the wick before it will successfully light.

To put out the flame, quickly dip the wick in the pool of wax with a match stick and then prop the wick back up. This way, any smoke from the wick will be avoided. When all of the wax in the container is molten it will be difficult to dip the wax in the pool so use a stoneware plate or some other fire resistant flat item to place over the container to snuff out the flame. There will be a bit of smoke from the wick.
